Year 1 2025 - 2026

Last half term our topic was, ‘Hot and Cold Places’!

Last half term, our learning in Year One was linked to the theme, ‘Hot and Cold Places’. We learned about and compared different types of weather and the features of hot and cold places around the world. In our writing sessions, we shared many different stories together. We really enjoyed reading, ‘Meerkat Mail’ and we used this story to help inspire our own writing.

During our JIGSAW sessions, we spent time thinking about and discussing important relationships with people in our lives. In our Art sessions we really enjoyed learning about and making our own 3D structures and 3D pieces of artwork. We are very proud of our final group piece that we worked hard on together.

We have enjoyed many special days this half term too, including celebrating the King’s Coronation in school and taking part in ‘break the rules’ day, Eco day and our wellbeing day. We have worked incredibly hard and cannot believe we have just one-half term left in Year One!
