School Vision & Ethos
The World Around Us
As a school, we understand the ever-changing world our children are growing up in.
It is a world where children need not only strong academic foundations, but also emotional literacy to help them lead well-rounded and fulfilling lives long after they leave school.
It is a world where children need to understand that making mistakes is a natural part of learning and development. We want them to know they have the power to make a positive difference in their own lives and in the world around them.
It is a world where children should be supported to reach their full potential. We recognise that a strong foundation in vocabulary and communication skills from an early age is key to this success.
It is an ever-changing world where children need to feel secure in who they are and develop respect for others, celebrating the diversity of people in modern Britain today.
Vision
Our vision is to create a culture of ‘Learning without limits’ at Crompton Primary School and to prepare all of our children for the World around us. In order to do this we aim to:
INCLUDE, INSPIRE, INNOVATE
Include
Inclusion lies at the heart of our vision and values at Crompton Primary. Our aim is to break down barriers to learning for every child and provide the tools they need to navigate both school life and the wider world. We deliver a strong inclusion programme supported by high-quality teaching and targeted interventions delivered by skilled and dedicated staff.
We are committed to ensuring that every child feels safe, secure and supported, both mentally and physically. Through a strong curriculum, effective pastoral care, robust SEND support and close partnership with parents and carers, we aim to provide the best possible foundations for our children to thrive.
We believe that by teaching about and celebrating diversity — including differences in race, religion, gender, sexual orientation and background — we prepare our children for life as responsible citizens in modern Britain. We strive to give every child the opportunity to excel and reach their individual potential by removing barriers, providing challenge at all levels and ensuring that no child is disadvantaged by the opportunities we provide.
Inspire
We strive to inspire our children to be their strongest, happiest and healthiest selves, improving life chances and outcomes for all, while recognising that success may look different for each individual child.
We want all of our children to make meaningful progress in their learning. We achieve this by inspiring and celebrating success, while encouraging children to develop aspirations for a positive and fulfilling future.
Our curriculum is reviewed each year to ensure it provides engaging and inspiring learning opportunities, supported by high-quality teaching, relevant subject content and effective resources. We are committed to developing our staff through high-quality training so that they can deliver the very best outcomes for our children.
Through this approach, we aim to inspire a genuine love of learning while nurturing confidence, resilience and ambition in every child.
Innovate
Our aim is to become a flagship school in Oldham by embracing innovative approaches to teaching and learning. We are committed to strengthening our core provision in technology, inclusion, mental health and wellbeing, while building on our Communication Friendly Early Years status and extending this approach across the entire primary phase.
We aspire to be a school that works collaboratively with others, maintaining an outward-looking ethos and sharing best practice with schools across Oldham and beyond.
